Giorgia CacaceChief Operations Officer
Giorgia's role at Hexigone is Chief Operations Officer, alongside which she's studying the Executive MBA at Cardiff University. Previous to Hexigone, Giorgia consulted for several "hard-tech" companies in the steel industry, across business development, operations and business-level strategy. She initially graduated in International Politics from City, University of London, which led her into research within UK Parliament, Westminster. Outside the office, Giorgia is a volunteer for the Cinnamon Trust and the Vegan Society.
Dr Patrick DoddsCEO and Founder
Patrick is an Honorary Research Fellow within the College of Engineering, Swansea University - he studied Chemistry for his first degree and subsequently worked within environmental chemistry and pharmaceutical science research before specialising in corrosion and coatings. He holds an MRes in Steel Technology and an EngD in Materials Engineering. His research has been published in peer reviewed journals and presented at leading international conferences, including invited lectures at the European Coating Technology Conference. In addition, he was a finalist in 2015 and a winner in 2017, in an international innovation competition, one of only 50 teams selected from over 5000 global entries. Patrick has had a prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowship, which involved intensive business training, focusing on growing start-ups into sustainable companies.
Ella NewingtonMarketing Manager
Ella is the Marketing Manager at Hexigone. She has 7 years' experience putting together multi-channel campaigns in events, e-commerce, charity and industry environments. She studied Economics at University and also holds a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing (from the Institute of Digital Marketing). She particularly enjoys the data driven aspect of digital marketing where her creative and analytical skills combine to tweak and maximise campaigns. When she's not marketing, you'll find her shaking off excess energy on the netball court or conjuring-up something on the sewing machine or in the kitchen.
Ruth BowleyScale-Up and Manufacturing Technician
Ruth has recently joined the Hexigone team to work with Emily and Alex in the labs. She holds a BSc in Physics and is finishing MSc in Photochemistry where she used a high powered laser to study photovoltaics. Ruth is splitting her time between practicing science and writing about it as she is an aspiring sci-fi writer and uses what she knows of current technology to imagine the future.
Ffion StockdenAdministrative & Finance Assistant
Ffion works part-time at Hexigone to keep the team running smoothly through her cool, calm attention to detail! She has many strings to her bow and studied Marketing & Communications at University as well as currently training to be a Paramedic. Ffion loves music and animals - so outside of work, you’ll see her at a gig or walking her dog, Sheldon.
Phil BuckFdr Sunnybarn Invest Ltd & Hexigone Board Member
Phil is a valued member of the Hexigone Board. He has a BA and MA in History; and an MBA; as well as 40+ years of experience within the industrial coatings industry. His successful career includes senior management roles at some of the leading coatings companies as well as 20+ years as the major shareholder and CEO of the Spencer Coating Group. Phil helped to build this company through acquisitions and organic growth to be the largest independent UK coatings manufacturer before selling to industry giant, NYSE listed Axalta Coating Systems. Phil’s strengths are business development, technology development, mergers and acquisitions. He relaxes by watching Brecon play rugby and cruising the U.K. canal system on his narrowboat.
Emily RadleyHead of Manufacturing & Technical Support.
Emily ‘heads up’ our technical team at Hexigone. Her background is in Chemistry but she has spent the last four years researching and developing solutions to stress whitening in coatings systems; this means she will soon hold a doctorate in watching paint dry! Emily commits her spare time to developing and leading STEM outreach and engagement activities, as well as playing a variety of board games.
Mr Owen SennitChairman
Owen is a Chartered Accountant and corporate financier with 30 years experience in London, the South West and South Wales. He has led the investment of over £200m of private equity in his time with 3i, Wales Fund Managers, Lloyds Integrated Finance and Chord Capital, with the much of it being in Welsh based transactions. In addition to Hexigone, Owen is Chair at Wales Environmental, a waste management company, and Quantum Advisory, an employee benefit and pensions advisory business, and is co-founder of ProPractices Advisory, which focusses on advising dentists, vets and pharmacies. He also holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Economics and Accountancy from Loughborough University.
