Blog: We’ve joined the ‘Made in Britain’ Network

We’re pleased to have recently been accepted into the  official Made in Britain network of trusted and transparent British manufacturers.

Britain has a rich heritage of manufacturing. Wales was the first industrial nation and as a result South Wales had a big impact worldwide, especially during the 18th and 19th centuries. Made in Britain celebrates this heritage - the internationally recognised trademark promotes and acknowledges the very best of British manufacturing.

Manufacturing and quality at Hexigone

Our award-winning corrosion inhibitors are manufactured in South Wales, and due to ever-increasing demand, the plant is undergoing a large scale-up process. It's an exciting time for the company, and thanks to funding from Innovate UK, we’re now able to manufacture at large scale.

We dedicate special effort to renewable sourcing and energy efficiency. The manufacturing units are supplied by a 20kW solar PV system which is utilised within the building to offset CO₂ emissions and substantially supplement the power requirements. Hexigone holds the British Gas Zero Carbon certificate which means 100% of the business electricity supplied is backed by renewable energy guarantee of origin certificates. As a result, we can be confident that not only our product is sustainable in nature, but also the manufacturing process is kind to the planet.

To ensure our corrosion inhibitors meet the highest standards, each batch of our product is tested via stringent quality control processes. Every product that Hexigone produces must pass three rigorous quality control tests with very narrow limits for moisture, the concentration of the active ingredient, and particle size. This process takes place in the independent UKAS accredited Quality Control Laboratory where we can ensure that every Hexigone product that is shipped has passed extremely high-quality control standards.

The Made in Britain organisation

More than a thousand British manufacturers use the Made in Britain mark. This marque represents a standard of quality, prestige and unity for the British manufacturing sector within the UK, both domestically and around the globe. In today’s global economy, “Made in Britain” indicates a very well-engineered product designed to high European standards.

Ruth Bowley, Scale-Up and Manufacturing Manager, comments:

“The Made in Britain campaign reinforces us as a proud British manufacturer, and we look forward to integrating the mark in our communications and products in the future. We are one of the few corrosion inhibitor manufacturers displaying the Made in Britain official mark which demonstrates that our corrosion inhibitors are of the highest standard and deliver on Britain’s reputation of quality manufacturing.”
