Whether you’re completely replacing your current corrosion inhibitor or co-blending with phosphate inhibitors we highly recommend conducting a ladder study: 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2% AX1 for liquid coatings, (or 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% AX1 for powder coatings) to understand how Intelli-ion® AX1 works in your system, then refine in the second round of testing to balance cost and performance.
Intelli-ion® is acidic, so for waterborne systems we recommend balancing pH levels to around 8, from the start, with a product like AMP-95 at around 0.2%. To avoid blistering, Intelli-ion® works well at low loadings in combination with CoatOSil MP 200 in waterborne systems or Silquest A-1100 in solventborne systems.
